How to maintain Portrait Painting?

Some suggestion of maintaining  portrait oil paintings.

First,coating the canvas back with a thin pre-dissolved turpentine in two natural beeswax, It can completely prevent damage caused by moist air immersion.

Second, Avoiding the long-time directly sunlight because ultraviolet radiation is very devastating to the painting color and it will cause the protrait painting fading and discoloration.

Third, The oil paintings storage room should keep ventilation and  less moisture.Make the oil painting storage as far as possible away from the bathroom, kitchen to prevent dust, soot damage to the canvas.The  storage room should be within a certain temperature and humidity. Wet paint must be dried slowly, avoid exposure.

Fourth, Should n’t paste two images sides together.

Fifth, When rolling the canvas should make the painted side outside, roll ing a layer of paper tube outside, and then wrapped in plastic sheeting to prevent painting cracking.

Sixth, If the painting hanging on the wall down is on the dust, you can clean with a damp cloth and gently rub. If  there is oil and fumes above, you can use a little soap and water try to scrub gently, then quickly take a sponge to dry up the water on the canvas, taking fans blow painting surface to dry.

Seventh,General painting can save three hundred years, but after some decades the painting may be cracking. If there are many collection ,you can wrap the oil paintings with plastic sheeting and place it in wooden box.
